Milk Production

My general impression with Debbie has been that her teats are too small, and she has poor letdown (she holds back on purpose since I'm not her lamb). Her other qualities make her excellent foundation stock to cross to a dairy ram.
However when I milked her last summer, she did produce around 1.4 lbs per day with 2x daily milking.

Lil Debbie has done nothing but impress me. Although a little shy starting out, she raised her twin daughters with unmatched attentiveness and grace as a first time mama in 2023, and raised her quads in 2024 with only a couple weeks of bottle supplementation over peak consumption. This year with her quintuplets, I've been supplementing a lot more.
Finns are known as good mothers, but she took it to another level. Her care paid off, and her lambs grow faster and healthier than many of their peers. No worm issues for her or her babies. Her FAMACHA stays nice and red all season. Her fleece is dense and soft. Her teat placement is great for handmilking, with great attachment. It's just those midget teats, and the impossibility of getting her up on the stand without tackling her first😅
